Practical checks for weak signal, congestion, and devices that keep disconnecting. These general steps may help you narrow down the issue before contacting the service provider.

Before you start: Keep your equipment model and any error message handy. Never share your password, one-time verification code, or full payment details with someone who contacts you unexpectedly.

Steps to try

  1. Run a speed test near the router and compare it with a test in the room where the problem occurs.
  2. Move the router into an open, central location, away from cabinets, thick walls, and large electronics.
  3. Restart the router and pause large downloads or streaming on other devices while testing.
  4. If your router offers both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi, try the other band. 2.4 GHz may reach farther; 5 GHz can be faster at shorter range.
  5. If multiple devices remain slow in different rooms, check for an outage and contact official support to review your plan, signal, or equipment.
Good to know: A speed test over Wi-Fi can be affected by distance, device capability, and network congestion.
